This review is long overdue. Straight shooting, this is a great shop managed and operated by great people. The custom bikes and wheel builds I see rolling out of here on a weekly basis are works of art! Awesome attention from everything to component spec, fine tuning, set-up and even color. I personally enjoy working on bikes myself, but every time I find myself in a crux, Storrs Center Cycle fixes the problem almost immediately, which is greatly appreciated considering my below average patience level. Aside from being top-notch experts and problem solvers, they have a top ranked group of loyal team riders that absolutely demolish the roads and trails they ride on. Owner built me a pair of high end road bike wheels. The experience of riding these wheels is phenomenal. Beyond my expectations. If going fast, really fast, and feeling incredible controls is what you're after, it's the best upgrade to your road bike you could make. I'm glad I spent the money. Lots of enjoyment to come!
As an avid hobbyist I purchase many things and I am also very particular. Let me start by sharing that this was in recent memory one of the best experiences I have had with a store and its owner. Also note that I visited maybe (10) Connecticut bike shops before I selected on this one. Aaron the owner is first rate, extremely knowledgeable and calm in his demeanor to ensure that as a customer my needs were taken care of. This purchase was financially a large one, a 50th birthday present to myself; so I bought three bikes. A carbon road bike for me, a carbon mountain bike for me and an aluminum mountain bike for my wife. All bikes, especially the two mountain bikes were customized with new or swapped parts. This is chiefly were Aaron excelled, his knowledge of the cycling parts world is admirable. For a customer like me who wanted the bikes to be uniquely different and better than stock, Storrs Center Cycle hit a home run!
