When a business closes earlier than what their advertised hours of operations are, you know they have zero integrity.
I've always had a problem with parking services since my freshman year. My junior year I was tired of them and their nonsense so I called and asked if I can get a hanging sticker since the car is not mine and I won't know what car I will be driving when each day comes along. They said all I have to do was to bring the permit to them and they'll put it on, I made sure that's all I had to do because it seemed to good to be true but they assured me that was it. So I go in on the first day and they tell me that I cannot put my permit on a hanging one because I am not elibiable. So I tell them I spoke with one of their representatives and gave them my information the whole nine yards and that she said all I had to do was bring it to them so they could put it on. But they insisted I could not get a hanging tag. Honestly they tell you one thing and change their mouths two seconds later I even spoke with the manager or whoever was in charge and she did not help at all and didn't seem to care as well. Horrible service and horrible attitudes.
If I could give a minus 5 stars I would, UCONN has the WORST parking EVER!! I hate the parking services here and they ticket mercilessly. UCONN is just out to make money and rarely do they ever approve appeals. Even when parking lots are full they still continue to sell parking permits and just shrug at you when you tell them you're late for class and you have nowhere to park. This college is the worst at accommodating for commuters!!!!
Another reviewer mentioned this, but the parking office will close a half hour earlier than their scheduled hours. They also constantly change their rates season to season; a 4 week winter permit last year was $13, this year online was $25, and when I asked in person I was told $34. It’s like they just make up their hours and rates as they go. If this was an actual business and not part of uconn they would be facing legal issues most likely.
I am absolutely APPALLED by the gall of Uconn parking services. My car broke down so I had to take a different car to school and didn't have time to print out a temporary pass and they hit me with a $90 ticket on top of the $150 for the semester pass. When I called no one helped me and they showed no interest in my situation. I should have been able to call and say I'm a student and have all fees wiped because I have already payed a ton of money to even go to Uconn. The $5 in my bank account appreciates it. Oh, also, Uconn Hartford, if you're going to force us to only park in the E section of the garage, maybe you should not let the public park there for convention center events so we can actually get to school.
